Welcome to the website of the Alzheimer team.




The main thematic of the team concerns the study of mechanisms involved in the formation of cerebral lesions found in Alzheimer’s disease and other associated tauopathies. Preclinical treatments (si-RNAs, ASOs, …) were tested to interfere with the formation of these lesions. Several models and several technical approaches were used such as transgenic mice, cultured cells, primary cultures of neurons, behavior, FACS, RNA sequencing, stereotaxic brain injection, quantitative counting by stereology, clarification of brains.

Our group is part of the ULB Center for Diabetes Research (UCDR), member of the ULB Neuroscience Institute (UNI) and located at the faculty of Medicine of the Free University of Brussels (ULB).
